Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Madpix Films co-founder, Doug Blush, was Executive Producer on two films showing at the Palm Springs International Film Festival: BAD FAITH and FIRST WE BOMBED NEW MEXICO.

FIRST WE BOMBED NEW MEXICO, directed by Lois Lipman, is the untold story of Trinity, the world’s first nuclear bomb detonated in New Mexico one month before the bombing of Hiroshima. It is a story of government betrayal with tragic consequences. Thousands of New Mexicans – mostly Hispanic and Native American – were exposed to catastrophic levels of radioactive fallout, never warned, never acknowledged and never helped afterwards. Generations of cancers followed.

Premiere screening on Monday, January 8th at 8:30 PM and additional daytime showings on January 9th at 1:45 PM and January 10th at 1:00 PM. Q & A with the filmmakers will follow each screening. Order tickets here.

BAD FAITH: Christian Nationalism’s War on Democracy exposes how Christian Nationalism became the most powerful political force in the nation. Its infiltration and eventual hijacking of the Republican Party have given it an unparalleled ability to destroy democracy from within. A grassroots coalition of secular and interfaith leaders is rising up to defend our Constitution from this ideological scourge, but time is running out … In spite of the imminent danger to democracy, Americans seem to be unaware of the threat – our feature-length documentary seeks to sound the alarm. Director: Stephen Ujlaki and Co-Director: Chris Jones.

Screenings: Join the filmmakers for a Q&A after the screening.
