Doug Blush has been teaching film production, editing and story-telling across the US and throughout the world for over 25 years. From Brazil to New Zealand to Nigeria to China, Doug is an in-demand seminar leader, special event speaker and seasoned educator, whose guidance and experience have inspired numerous filmmakers to solve their projects’ issues, gain acceptance to film festivals and find distribution.
Doug’s university and educational teaching experience includes on ongoing visiting professorship at the University of Southern California, as well as an annual seminar at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. He’s also taught at UCLA, Northwestern University, the Vermont College of Fine Arts, the Cal State system and the YoungArts National Arts Foundation in Miami, Florida. Overseas, he’s done intensive labs and sessions at Globo Television Network in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, emerging Chinese filmmaker seminars in Beijing and Hangzhou, and taught as a film expert for the American Film Showcase program with the US State Department in Armenia and Nigeria.
